TRAVELING TO MALAYSIA
We understand getting to South East Asia is a big ask, but we’re hoping this information will make it a bit easier. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We will add all questions and responses to the FAQ page.
ABOUT MALAYSIA
Experience the magic out east in a land of enchantment and cultural diversity. From the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur to the idyllic beaches of Langkawi, prepare to be captivated by the beauty this country has to offer. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of traditions, savor delicious cuisine, and embark on unforgettable adventures as you celebrate our love in this extraordinary destination.
Why Malaysia? Aaleen’s mother is from Kuala Lumpur and we couldn’t think of a better place to fuse both cultures.
ABOUT LANGKAWI
Langkawi is an archipelago made up of 99 islands on the west coast of Malaysia. Surrounded by the Andaman Sea, the main island offers a mixture of pristine white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, lush rainforests, picturesque paddy fields, jungle-clad hills, and tranquil waterfalls. Langkawi offers a breathtaking backdrop for celebration and creating memories that will forever be etched in your hearts.
GETTING THERE
We recommend traveling to Langkawi via Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malysia, or Signapore.
Langkawi is about 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur and a 1.5 hours from Singapore. There are 20 direct flights per day.
No matter where you are coming from, we recommend booking split airfare. What does that mean? Book a roundtrip ticket from your home to Kuala Lumpur/Singapore and book your roundtrip tickets from Kuala Lumpur/Singapore to Langkawi separately.
For the adventurous type, it’s an 8 hour drive north from KL and a quick ferry ride across to the island. If you’re this person, we know you know how to research.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
If you are staying on property, you will be met with a car service to take you to the resort.
If you are staying at an Airbnb or other property, the rideshare service is called Grab.
SO I’M ON VACATION
Exactly. Treat it as such. Bali is close. Thailand is close. We hope you take advantage and kickstart Summer 2024 in the best way.
